Stress.

Serenity.

How did reading each of those words make you feel? Our culture idealizes the “busy” life, valuing calendars that are so jam packed that there are overlapping commitments and little to no time to slow down. I was guilty of this in the past, living in the mindset that the more I accomplished, the better I was “handling” my adult life. Rationalizing my busy life led to years of unrelenting stress and multiple chronic conditions.

How many times do we complain (or brag) about the number of hours worked in a week or how many activities we take our kids to in a week?

Stress is a normal part of life and can even help us perform better when it is situational (such as a presentation or sporting event). Stress becomes toxic to our bodies when it is chronic and unchecked. Learning to manage stress is critical to your health and wellbeing.

One way to manage your stress is to practice mindfulness. Practicing mindfulness regularly has holistic benefits that flow into every area of your well being. Empower yourself to manage your stress and watch your health improve!
